Brilliance Autumn Fern
Follow a regular watering schedule during the first growing season to establish a deep, extensive root system. Feed frequently during growing season with a general purpose fertilizer. Cut back old fronds after new growth begins in spring.
Fifth Season Design says, “Beautiful choice for shady borders and woodland gardens. Drought tolerant once established. Partial to full shade. Moderate growth 18 to 24 inches tall.”

The Battery Plant Database says: “Care Instructions:
When we establish ferns in areas where tree roots create dry soil, we add a pinch of Terra–Sorb Hydrogel to help the young plant survive competition with the tree while it establishes.”

Maybe I should get the Southern Wood Fern too. It’s not as spectacular looking, but it appears to survive here and is a shade plant for my yard.
