Letters to the Soldiers at Walter Reed

I’m posting 26 Christmas cards, with notes, to soldiers who have been injured and are recovering at Walter Reed.

In case you missed the post, here are their names and addresses:

Capt. James Ollinger
Sgt. Zavian Simspon
Specialist Brian Radke
Specialist Jason Braase
Sgt. David Nevins
Sgt. Jose Ramos
Cpl. Todd Bishop
Sgt. Ryan Donnelly
Sgt. Eva Diane Cochran

They should all be written with their name and then

C/O Walter Reed Army Medical Center
6900 Georgia Avenue NW
Washington, DC 20307-5001

And if you want to write to the soldier who received a Christmas card that said, Die, his name is Joshua Sparling and it’s the same address as above.

I wrote 8 cards. Ladies at my Bible class signed some more. Then a few of my students at the college wrote letters for extra credit. That’s where I came up with 26.

I am going to take some to church with me on Sunday and have my kids in my Bible class write some, too.

Yes, I bought lots of Christmas cards.

  1. Are these soldiers still at Walter Reed? I want to start writing to injured soldiers, but I am having a difficult time finding updated information abiut doing so.

    Thanks for what you’re doing!

  2. These soldiers are, I hope, home. However, you can check news items on the military blogs and find soldiers who are at Walter Reed now.

    Blackfive is a good one.

    Soldiers Angels has some too.

You can also send to the Red Cross for them to deliver.
