Today I was listening to the radio. (I’m in Houston.) The talk show had a caller who had been at the dome. She said several things, but the ones I want to mention here are the folks who have come to help.
A couple from Cleveland, Ohio are taking their vacation and are here for a week to help.
A man from New York, here on business, is spending his weekend volunteering.
And, for an incredible story of a disable veteran’s work in Biloxi and New Orleans immediately after the hurricane, go read Lonestar MVPA. I’m proud to say he’s a Texan. And he must be the kind of guy you can count on because even though he was in Texas, when he arrived at his friend’s house in Mississippi, the friend’s wife greeted him. “She thought I would come.” Go read it all.
